Many Lone Star College System employees are inspired by what could be, but the funding to build a better tomorrow isn’t always readily available.
Each year, LSC Foundation distributes mini grants across the college system, allowing campus leaders to embark on ventures that are not covered in the regular budget. Selected projects may enhance students’campus experiences, streamline processes or experiment with new technology.
“Year after year, Lone Star College Foundation looks forward to seeing mini grant recipients make their campuses a better place through creative and strategic solutions,” said Nicole Robinson Gauthier, CFRE, LSC Foundation executive director. “The mini grants also serve as a chance for some to test an idea before pursuing additional funding from an external agency.”
The 2024-25 mini grants supported more than 20 projects, including a mobile geospatial technology lab at LSC-CyFair, a sensory-inclusive therapeutic environment in LSC-Kingwood’s testing center, a trumpet appreciation event for local students at LSC-Montgomery, upgrades to the nursing simulation lab at LSC-North Harris and a tabletop board game collection in the LSC-University Park library.

Other projects supported student and faculty research projects, upgraded spaces on campuses, and funded educational workshops and conferences.
