LSC Houston North MLK Parade

Lone Star College stays on top of the community’s needs. This vigilance creates opportunities to offer programming, services, resources and a campus community to all groups, including the underserved populations.

“Lone Star College serves the community in multiple ways, including providing affordable college education close to home,” said Gerald F. Napoles, Ph.D., LSC vice chancellor, Student Success. “Offering accessible academic and workforce programs is in line with our central focus of student success.”

LSC saw the need to offer a full community college experience to residents living inside Beltway 8. In fall 2019, LSC-Houston North became the college system’s seventh main campus that continually implements resources, such as its partnership with Houston METRO to address the pressing needs of its students.

“LSC-Houston North opened to bring top-quality educational programming to individuals residing in a subsection of the the Lone Star College System that has a high concentration of lower-income households,” said Quentin Wright, Ed.D, LSC-Houston North president. “Providing Lone Star College services changes lives and transforms communities.”

LSC-Houston North has four locations: LSC-Houston North Fairbanks, LSC-Houston North Fallbrook, LSC-Houston North Greenspoint and LSC-Houston North Victory.

General Education Developmental (GED®) Test

Adults who did not graduate from high school but would like their diploma can enroll in the GED® program available at various LSC locations. The course will prepare them to pass four tests: mathematics, language arts, social studies and science needed to earn their high school diploma. The GED® Test, approved by the State Board of Education and Texas Education Agency (TEA), measures high school equivalency skills. Graduates can participate in LSC’s spring Commencement Ceremonies.
